Centre Paul Klee Bern

Opened in 2005, the Paul Klee Centre is dedicated to the person, the life and work of the artist (1879-1940). Visit the world's largest collection of works by Klee, one of the major painters of the 20th century.

More than 4,000 of the 10,000 works of Paul Klee are exposed to the Centre which is dedicated to Berne: paintings, watercolors and drawings, but also biographical material of the artist, who has lived half his life in Bern.

The building was designed by the Italian architect Renzo Piano, recipient of numerous awards. He created a green island where three waves of glass and steel emerge. They house exhibition halls, a music room and events, a children's museum and convention halls and seminars.

Klee's works are displayed in groups of 120 to 150 according to the principle of rotation and with a different theme each time.

The Children's Museum is a place Creaviva creative activity. The ideas and techniques of the great artist are the point for excursions into the world of art and within oneself.
