The collaboration with the Swiss Foundation of Photography has created a
unique center of competence of its kind in Europe in the field of
photography.

mecca of photography is in a former factory which showcases temporary
exhibitions and permanent collections of contemporary and classical
photography.
Part of the museum oriented cultural-historical and sociological
welcomes photography applied in the areas of policy, industry,
construction of dams and medicine.
The permanent collections are a hall devoted to contemporary artists
with works by Lewis Baltz, William Eggleston, Nan Goldin and many
others.
The Museum of Photography in Winterthur is also a classic museum for
masters of the 19th and 20th centuries, such as Karl Blossfeldt, Bill
Brandt or Dorothea Lange.
The Swiss Foundation for Photography is committed to the conservation, enhancement and dissemination of photographic works.
It manages an archive and a collection which to date comprises more
than 30 legacy and about 30,000 original prints of outstanding
photographers.
