Oskar Reinhart Museum Winterthur

The former high school near the city park since 1951 contains around 600 paintings and drawings by Swiss, German and Austrian artists and this, thanks to the Winterthur art patron Oskar Reinhart.

Oskar Reinhart came from a wealthy Winterthur family, marked, like no other, the artistic life of the city. Already in his youth, he devoted himself to his collection. One thing was clear: the public should have access to its treasures. Still the passion we feel for Oskar Reinhart art across from the Museum of the City Park. Local furnished with love furniture stylish period give the museum a private atmosphere and invite you to linger.
The 27 paintings of Ferdinand Hodler is one of the focal points of the collection. In addition, we find the Museum Oskar Reinhart, hidden treasures such as the famous "Kreidefelsen auf Rügen" Caspar David that we do not fail to admire here.
